We recently reintroduced our first formulation from the 1980s, which we now call Mastercoat Slim. The reason we are offering it again is to eliminate any guesswork in reduction. We did not reduce with thinner, but merely removed the thickening agents. This formulation is ideal for spraying, as you simply dump it from the can into a 2.0 gun, and spray as directed. It is also more ideal for our customers who use our products to seal gas tanks. This is an excellent sloshing compound that will more evenly coat your tank and avoid puddling. With urethanes, a thinner coat is more desirable than heavier one, and this is because thinner formulations such as Mastercoat Slim work better on a heavily rusted surface as it penetrates the rust deeper. Our original Mastercoat Permanent Rust Sealer is more ideal for chassis and floor pans that have been cleaned up a bit. MastercoatMetal Prep is an excellent pre-paint treatment for both of these rust sealers. Check out the three types of Mastercoat Permanent Rust Sealer--original, Slim, and Extreme--and see which one is right for your project.
