FAQ about our sound deadener & thermal insulator.
You can add the additive to just the rust sealer or the AG111 as well. If you're only going to add it to one, add it to the rust sealer. You can also add it to the AG111 satin black (satin because the additive dulls gloss coatings) for extra protection if you so desire.
Yes, you can but we do not recommend adding it to the AG111 gloss black or any of our gloss coatings. The additive dulls the finish of gloss coatings, so we recommend adding it to AG111 satin black.
NEVER do this--it's a hazard. Once the additive is added to the rust sealer and mixed in, you should never close it up and let it sit for any amount of time. The contents build pressure and the container could blow. We recommend adding the additive at a 4:1 ratio in a separate container for the first coat, and then take out of what you need for the next coat and add the additive in a separate container. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO STORE RUST SEALER OR AG111 WITH ADDITIVE MIXED IN.
Yes, it does. If it didn't, we would just recommend mixing the additive into any paint and not bother selling it as a set with our rust sealer.
The additive has the tendency to thicken rust sealer and that's why we use the Slim.
Yes. Just be advised that it will thicken the Original even more.
It may have a different label when in the sound deadener set, but it is still the Slim rust sealer. It has a different label because when used with the sound deadener additive, it has a different set of instructions, which are on the label.
Yes. Usually 10% MCT101 thinner or medium urethane reducer is recommended, but start off less than 10% and use however much it takes to get it through your gun.
The answer is always yes. The rust sealer will be ineffective if two coats and a topcoat are not used. If not topcoating, use three coats.
Yes, you can add it to any paint, even if it's not a Mastercoat paint. We do recommend contacting the the customer service of the brand of paint you choose to make sure it's a good idea to use it in their paint, however.
Silver. Part A is Mastercoat Permanent Rust Sealer Slim, but with a different label with instructions on how to use it with the sound deadener. It is meant to be used as an undercoat that seals and prevents rust, and also acts as a sound deadener and thermal insulator (with additive mixed in). Generally we add the sound deadener to the rust sealer, apply two coats, and then use a coat of AG111 in black as a topcoat. You can add sound deadener to the AG111 Satin black if you want, but if you want a black gloss finish, do not add the sound deadener to the gloss black because it dulls the gloss finish. Alternatively if sealing and preventing rust isn't a concern, you can add the sound deadener additive to another brand black paint.
No, this is not recommended. It is either one or the other when it comes to a different brand bedliner or rust sealer/AG111 with sound deadener added.
